Remember those scholarships that Beyoncé gave away after her first Coachella performance last week? Just like she repeated her performance with enhancements for the desert fest, she also repeated her charitable feat – this time, with a little assistance from Google.
Google’s philanthropic department, Google.org, announced that they’d match Bey’s $100-thousand dollar contribution so that four more HBCU students could get $25-thousand dollar scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year. This time, the chosen schools are Texas Southern University, Fisk University, Grambling State University, and Morehouse College. They join Xavier, Wilberforce, Tuskegee, and Bethune-Cookman.
If Bey has her way, more schools will be able to give way scholarships because she issued a challenge to other businesses to invest in excellence through education. We’ll keep you posted…
