Lauryn Hill is, unfortunately, no stranger to cancelling shows or coming extremely late to shows. She came to Philly for her recent stop on the ‘Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ 20th anniversary tour, though apparently the show was over by 9 p.m. She then disappointed fans at her Toronto show, where she was late (which has become a habit for her in the past.) She is now cancelling her performances in Virginia Beach as well as in Charlotte and Raleigh (North Carolina) AND St. Petersburg (Florida) that were scheduled for this week. A Miami show, which was supposed to be on July 31st, is now postponed to October 15th.
A rep for Live Nation said that the cause was “unforeseen production issues”, but it doesn’t come as much of a surprise given Lauryn’s history, and the kerfuffle at her Toronto show. Hopefully she can get everything together and still give those fans in those cities a date some time along the way so they can at least see her. We hope for their sake that there are no more ‘unforeseen production issues.’
