Pretty much EVERYONE was talking about Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars on Sunday night, especially after it appeared that Gaga and Bradley got VERY close at the piano. People instantly speculated that things might be romantic between the two, especially since Gaga had just broken off her engagement. She went on Jimmy Kimmel’s show this week, though, to set the record straight.
Some of the conversation went like this:
Kimmel: “We were watching it at home and wondered, 'What's going on between these two?' And it caused this big controversy because you had such a connection with Bradley, that instantly, and I guess this is a compliment, people started saying, 'Oh, well they must be in love.'"
Gaga: “First of all, social media quite frankly is the toilet of the internet and what it has done to pop culture is abysmal. And people saw love, and guess what, that's what we wanted you to see. This is a love song, the movie is a love story. From a performance perspective it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time. I mean, look, I've had my arm around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you're singing love songs, that's what you want people to feel.”
