Is "This is Us" in danger of not returning? It doesn't appear so, as Deadline reports that "no one doubts it will be back on NBC in the fall", yet they add it is "quite unsual" for a network's "flagship series not to be officially picked up by end of pre-upfront week."
NBC announces its schedule first on Sunday & Monday, so it is very odd that the show hasn't been renewed yet, right?
I have not heard of any particular issues between NBC and 20th TV overThis Is Us,which is expected to get another big multi-year renewal fitting for its stature as a commercial and critical mega hit. One likely factor was ensuring that series creator Dan Fogelman, whose overall deal with 20th TV was coming to an end, would continue on the show. His massive re-up with the studio closed within the past week or so.
We hope there is no snags and the show gets an official renewal this weekend!
