For once, one of the stores from our childhoods that closed is actually... coming back! It may not be much, but it's stll something - Richard Barry, CEO of True Kids Brands (and former global chief merchandising officer at Toys 'R' Us), says he plans to open at least TWO Toys 'R' Us stores in the U.S. this year.
Tru Kids Brands won the rights to the Toys 'R' Us brand last year.
The source added that there's a minimum of two stores in the U.S. in 2019, and more planned for 2020.
Toys 'R' Us had a small revival late last year, when Tru Kids Brands teamed up with Kroger grocery stores to set up a small toy section in 600 of their stores during the holidays.
