Prince Harry 'Sees The Pain' In Meghan Markle & Wants To 'Sort It Out'

The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Attend WellChild Awards

Prince Harry is doing everything he can to help Meghan Markle through a difficult time. The Duchess of Sussex has struggled with the invasive and critical British tabloids since marrying into the royal family. Opening up in an emotional new interview, Meghan said the intense scrutiny has been a struggle, especially as she tries to navigate life as a newlywed and first time mom.

A source close the Sussexes said Prince Harry “sees the pain of his wife and the attacks she faces, and he wants to try to sort it out." One of the ways Prince Harry is trying to help his wife is by taking legal action against a number of tabloids. "There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been," the Duke of Sussex wrote in a passionate statement about the lawsuits.

A friend of Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana, spoke to People about the couple, as well, saying: “There is an element of [the press] being ingrained as the enemy. He is trying to protect them all. He is doing what he can.”

Prince Harry echoed these sentiments in his own emotional interview discussing the tabloid drama. “I think being part of this family — in this role, in this job — every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash, it takes me straight back,” the royal explained. “Being here now 22 years later trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional. But everything that I do reminds me of her,. But as I said — with the role, with the job and sort of the pressures that come with that — I get reminded of the bad stuff.”

Prince Harry, Meghan and their 5-month-old son Archie will take a six weeks long sabbatical beginning in November. They're expected to travel to the United States and spend Thanksgiving with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. Hopefully this "much needed family time" is the reset these two need.
