Here's The Real Reason Abby Huntsman Is Leaving "The View"

Yesterday, fans of “The View” were shocked by the announcement of Abby Huntsman’s exit — and yet, while she told viewers that the reason she’s leaving is to help her father’s gubernatorial campaign in Utah, it appears there may be other factors at work.

Page Six reports that one of the reasons she was moved to leave was the souring of her relationship with friend Meghan McCain. The source said the show was an “unhealthy environment” and that she felt for a while that things “had to change.”

Meanwhile, CNN’s Brian Stelter reports much of the same thing in his reporting as well, that it was a “toxic work environment” and some dust-ups with McCain recently led to Huntsman’s departure. There was a recent dispute between the two involving Huntsman’s “on-air enthusiasm for her children.”

One of the sources said, “Abby was sick of being berated by Meghan for perceived slights. She ultimately decided she didn’t need this job and it wasn’t worth it.”

Apparently Huntsman went to the senior VP of talent ABC News to inform of her leaving the show, describing the toxic work environment at the show, and apparently that wasn’t the first time.
