It's A New And Edgier "Saved By The Bell" Coming Soon

Are you ready for an edgier Saved By The Bell? If this was one of you favorite TV shows from 1988 to 1993, Comcast's new streaming service Peacock is reviving...they say re-imagining.... the campy Saturday morning high school comedy with a new series featuring some of the original cast members, including Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, who return to Bayside High as adults. It won't be quite as silly and simple as the original, with writers who worked on "30 Rock" and "The Mindy Project," two well written and funny shows.

Lopez and Berkeley Lauren, who play Slater and Jessie Spano, say there will be many nods to the original, lots of inside jokes that regular viewers of "Saved" will remember. Peacock has not yet set a premiere date for "Bell"; and the final few episodes have not yet been filmed due to the corona virus fueled production shutdown.
