Will we start buying of mouthwash and baby shampoo like crazy to kill the corona virus?
A new study from Penn State University has found that these items may help prevent the spread of covid19. Researchers found that nasal and oral rinses like mouthwash can actually deactivate the virus. Clinical trials are still needed to determine if these products can reduce the amount of virus COVID-19 positive patients spread when talking, sneezing or coughing. Researchers say even if the use of these solutions could reduce transmission by 50%, it would have a major impact.
Also tested were one-percent baby shampoo, a neti pot, and peroxide sore-mouth cleansers, and they found that found most of these products shut down virus particles in less than two minutes.
So keep swirling that mouthwash, it will keep your breath nice too under that mask!
