Kelly Clarkson & General Hospital Are Daytime Emmy Winners

Kelly Clarkson and "General Hospital" won big at the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and there were tributes for Alex Trebek, Larry King, and Regis Philbin.

Sheryl Underwood of "The Talk" was the host of the pre-taped event at a Burbank, California sound stage earlier this month, with pre-taped acceptance speeches, too. Kelly Clarkson won big, awarded Outstanding Talk Show Host and Outstanding Talk Show for "The Kelly Clarkson Show". "General Hospital" won outstanding drama series. GH has been on the air since 1963 and is still going strong!

Alex Trebek won posthumously as Outstanding Game Show Host and Outstanding Game Show for "Jeopardy", and was included in the memoriam segment that featured a musical performance from “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Diamond White.

There was one glitch. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences had to say they were sorry...officially...because of a mix-up. They put the wrong picture up of Marguerite Ray,  the original Mamie on “The Young and the Restless” who passed away in November 2020 at the age of 89.
