Are You Addicted To Fear?

Why do some people like a good scare? With Halloween coming, the ghouls are coming out, there are lots of places where you can go and pay to get scared. A professor of psychology from Knox College in Illinois says creepiness and horror experiences can give an "ideal emotional cocktail."  Some researchers call it ‘recreational fear,’” and say just the right dose is addictive for many people.

The experts say walking through a commercial haunted house can also provide feedback about ourselves, and might be useful to know which types of things are scary to us and which are not.

There may also be a human survival element that makes these Halloween attractions so appealing. Like...."gee I wonder if I can get by this ghoul with a chainsaw....."

Happy Halloween!
