"The Talk" Announces New Co-Host To Replace Sharon Osbourne

And the new "The Talk" co-host will be.... Jerry O'Connell!

The surprising announcement was made Wednesday on the CBS talk show, with Jerry now taking over the spot previously held by Sharon Osbourne.

O'Connell has been a frequent guest host on the show, but would also now be the first official permanent male co-host.

In the announcement, Jerry said, "It's fun, and it works, and we're going to have a lot of fun. It’s real exciting. First of all, I want to say, you ladies have been so welcoming to me. I mean, I came here as a guest months ago, and just from the moment I walked in, you’re just gracious, you’re kind, you’re fun, and it worked. And here we are. We’re going to have a lot of fun, we really are.”

He'll appear on the show for the remainder of this week, and then will take a break until the end of the month. He'll join full-time on the show when Season 12 begins.
