Starbucks is Closing One of It's First Philly Locations!

Wow this is actually really sad!  Starbucks is closing it's location at 4th & South, and there are a few reasons why it's sad to me.  First, South St is really going downhill.  Jon's Bar & Grill closed too!  Second, I used to live at 5th & Lombard so I would go here all the time.  Also, my favorite coffee place on the planet...Milk and Honey, which was at 4th between South & Lombard ALSO changed.  (It's now The Green Line Cafe).  It's good, but it's not Milk and Honey (they had the best coffee ever).

It looks like that the Starbucks on 4th & South was the 4th location in the Philly area.

Philly.com broke it down for us:

Starbucks joined the Philly coffee fray in spring 1995 with its opening at 16th and Walnut Streets in Center City. Our database says the former Arby's fast-foodery in King of Prussia was next, followed by the old Depot restaurant in Chestnut Hill, and then Fourth and South.

I hope South St bounces back.  It used to be such an amazing destination!
