Well this is sad news, especially since we play her all the time! Ashanti's recently scheduled concert at Stony Brook University in New York had to be cancelled... because it only sold 24 tickets. Apparently, Teyana Taylor was the original performer for the gig, but she pulled out last minute. They had to rush and promote Ashanti as the new headliner, but people apparently weren't feeling it.
“As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With a week before the concert, only 24 tickets are sold to students."
Just goes to show that social media doesn't translate all the time -- she has nearly 4 million followers on Instagram. Hopefully her upcoming album fares better!
