Have you seen "Squid Game"? This drama series has become Netflix’s biggest-ever TV show, and is paying off big time for the streaming service. Netflix paid $21.4 million for the nine-episode series, which premiered four weeks ago, and the company estimates “Squid Game” will deliver more than 40 times that — an estimated 900 million! And it has 111 million viewers globally, and beat "Bridgerton".
The South Korean series is gory and shocking, and revolves around a contest in which 456 players, all drawn from different walks of life but each deeply in debt, play a series of children's games. Contestants are killed off if they lose a game! Players have the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion prize, that's about 28 million in US dollars! "Squid Game" is now streaming on Netflix.
