The Kennedy Center Honors are back again this year, and President Biden and first lady Jill Biden brought back tradition by once again occupying the Presidential Box to applaud this years honorees in the creative arts. In fact, at the Sunday night ceremony, (on December 5th), David Letterman introduced the show by saying "its quite nice, very nice to see the presidential box once again being occupied." That comment got applause. The annual gala was snubbed for three years by then President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, and then upended by the coronavirus pandemic.
