Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could skip Prince Philip’s upcoming memorial if their fight over security is not resolved. The family expected to attend the Spring 2022 service for his late grandfather, who died last April at age 99, and to finally introduce their 7-month-old daughter, Lilibet, to the royal family. The Sussexes have been living in California since 2020 when they left England and gave up their royal duties and royal life.
But that’s all on hold, with the Duke of Sussex in a legal dispute with the British government over a decision not to let him pay for police protection for his family while in the UK. Why not? He said he would. Harry feels strongly about this after he was chased by a pack of photographers in London last summer. His mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash after being chased by paparazzi back in August 1997.
